MSc member of Queensland Counselling Association and British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, British Psychoanalytic Council accredited Dynamic Interpersonal Therapist.
Mark is a husband, father of an active toddler and has a background as a health care professional as a Registered Nurse during the 1990’s. Mark now practices as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist following five-years of rigorous study leading to an MSc in London.
Psychotherapy is a ‘talking therapy’ treatment for mental health issues rather than a medication-based approach. Mark focuses on exploring an individual’s emotional experience and their patterns of relating and behaviour within their personal and social relationships. Research indicates that change within this area of functioning leads to a reduction in symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Mark has experience working as a therapist across a wide range of settings; the tertiary education and government sectors and in private practice.
Mark works with women in preparation for pregnancy and from conception through to the postnatal time or who have toddlers. The women may be experiencing mental health problems such as; low mood, feeling anxious or overwhelmed, difficulty sleeping, noticing troubling or compulsive behaviours, parent-child bonding and behavioural issues, the stress of fertility problems and relationship problems.
Mark will be joining our clinic and available for appointments on Mondays and Wednesdays. As with all our practitioners Mark undertakes continuing professional development and training to keep up to date with research in the Mental Health field and recently attended training in Couples Therapy.
We would like to welcome Mark to our team at Cassia Wellness Clinic! To make an appointment with Mark please phone the clinic on (07) 5522 0505!
